Come si dice (how do you say) hot mess?? Probably not appropriate but the answer is Sorella Jarvis.
This last week I had a lot going on. Starting last Wednesday I got pretty sick and was on Bed Rest through the weekend. The branch president was going to have all the sisters in the branch take turns sitting with me so none of them missed to much class but another sister got pneumonia at the same time. We just hang out ALL day in my room since we have 2 extra beds. I literally did not see the outside world for 48 hours. I just slept the whole time and cried haha It was fun. I also got to go on a field trip to the hospital. That was fun. Nothing's wrong! I'm meeting with a gastrointoligist (sp?) this week and they're gonna put a camera down my throat. Gross. But it should be fun!
I also saw Erick Mathews on Wed when was at the front desk all sick and pathetic. Hope I didn't freak him out too much! Hehehe
Also, highlight of the week. Shout out to Hermana Jarvis! This morning at the temple I did sealings with Sorella Carter and I passed out. Right there. Just fell right over. Sorella Carter said I was really graceful though. It was just, luckily and older polynesian man caught me before my head hit the ground. It was just because I hadn't eaten and my knees were bent to far at the altar. I was the 2nd one today and they told me not to be too embarassd because it happens about 5-6 times a week. All the elderly people in the room were super sweet about it! It made for a fun morning! I always say, if my life were a movie at least it'd be interesting!
Sunday was the first day that I was able to get out of the room. We were so blessed to have Sister Mary Edmunds come to the MTC. She was part of the first female companionship in the Philippines and has served in like 10 countries. She started the devotional by telling all the elders that they could take off their suit coats so we knew it would be great! She was seriously so hilarious and uplifting and inspiring. But what devotional here hasn't been??
Last night we were super fortunate to hear from Elder Marcus Nash of the 70. He and his wife shared amazing talks. He spoke a lot about his time as area president in Venezuela, Bolivia, Colombia, and Ecuador. I think the most powerful thing/ story he told us was about when he dropped his son off at the airport. He told him, "Don't hold anything back." When his son returned he replied, "Dad, I didn't hold anything back." That's what I want. After every tuesday devotional we have district review where we review haha. Last night Brother Whiting from the branch sat in with us and said to ask our Heavenly Father if he was proud. Because He is. And He wants us to know and feel of His love always. I just broke down. I loved every single word he said. All I want is to make my family and my Heavenly Father proud and to represent well the 2 names I carry over my heart every day.
There is always so much going on and I love being a missionary everyday. I've never been so sensitive to the Spirit and realized how lucky I am to be a missionary and to be a member of this church. They other day we got a new investigator from "tracting". His name is Luca (really my teacher Fratello Cena.) We quickly learned that he doesn't know much about God. He doesn't understand if there is a relationship there or really what it means. I looked him right in the eye and said perfetto. I could now be happier to tell him how much his father in heaven loved him and how much He truly wished to hear from him. How lucky are we all? We are already partaking of the fruits of the gospel-- the good news. NEVER be afraid to share the love of Christ with God's children. Especially with those who don't know, never take that opportunity away from someone else.
I love you all and hope you're doing well. Don't forget to write me!! I want to know how you're all doing. I hope you enjoy the pictures!!!
Sorella Jarvis! :)
The card and candy were given to me by my district while I was out sick. Aren't they so great?!
