Count your blessings :) update for Meagan 11/4/13

Buenos dias mis queridos,

This week has flown by. I can't believe that I am already emailing again. And a lot has happened.

Monday night Hna Cropper and I had exchanges :) It was so fun. Best part was that I was able to use my Spanish. Man... I couldn't believe how rusty it has gotten in the last couple of weeks. But it was still amazing. For their dinner appointment, we were taken out to eat. Guess where we went?!?! Outback! Best day ever. It reminded me of my family and I loved it. Also, you should be proud because I ordered a steak and it was amazing!!!! And I ate all of it.

Tuesday night we ended our exchange. It was great! Hna Cropper and Hna Seaborn found us a spanish family to eat with and so we all went over to la casa de la familia Portios ( Portios house). And dinner was amazing! No lie. We had enchiladas verdes! and rice and beans. I felt like I was at home :) I miss my Greeley family. Hermana Portios is amazing too. She is so strong and is a great example to us.

Wednesday we had out interviews with President Brown. Which took up most of the day. Wednesday night we had a last minute calendar change for dinner and Hna Mangum and I ended up going to eat with the Linford family. Brother Linford is the sweetest. His wife has cancer and some days are good and some days arent so good and Wednesday just so happened to be a good day and they took us to eat at The Village Inn. Who knew it was soo yummy?! And it was free pie day! Just what I needed. And their special was the French Silk pie which made me think of Mom mom. So I told stories about Perkins and Mom mom and had some fun thinking about all those fun memories :)

Thursday: HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! What a fun day :) We had dinner with a family in our ward and then afterwards we had to be in for the night. Hna Mangum and I went to DQ to celebrate halloween. The lady who was working recognized our tag, even though they were in Spanish, and told us that her sister was baptised a little while ago and is going to BYUI. How crazy. Talk about following a spiritual prompting to go to DQ. Personally, I think those are the best kind. haha Well, we talked to her for a few minutes and asked her if she would be interested in meeting with the missionaries. She said she is really busy right now but I think it made an impact in her life just to see us. So that was neat. And the rest of the evening we played card games and laughed the night away.

Friday we did service with Mike and Carole. A family that we have been helping since the flood. Carole is the one who came to our Chili-Cookoff. Anyway, they are amazing. They said that they have adopted Hermana Mangum and I :) Well, we ended up inviting them to another event that we had on Saturday and they said they would come. It was amazing. No joke! They came on Saturday night. We had a living art show with a choir and an orchestra and and it was amazing. The Spirit was so strong. And you could see how much it made an impact on them. Yesterday we went over there to help out some more with their house. We had to leave though before some of the elders and they actually brought up the church and said they would be interested in learning more!!!! What a tender mercy. AND President Brown gave us permission to teach them!!!! even though they are out of our area!!

This week has been a real struggle but it has helped me to realize how blessed I truly am. I know without a doubt that my Savior loves me and that He supports me when I feel like it is too hard to continue. I know that He provides the strength that we need. I experienced it this week and many other weeks on my mission. I know that Heavenly Father loves us. That He knows what we are experiencing and that He will bless us right when we need it the most. Hard times happen for a reason. So that when the good times come around you can recognize just how amazing life is. I love being a missionary. I am learning so much. "Enduring to the end is a personal experience." (Preach My Gospel) I read this today during my personal study and I am making sure that I am doing all that I can to stay on the path for the rest of my life because I know it will be worth it in the end. Count your blessings and it will surprise you what the Lord has done. That is what I am realizing today. Blessings are all around us. Look for them.

Love you all! Thank you for everything :) Be strong! Have missionary experiences! Invite someone to come closer to the Savior!

Con carino,
Hermana Jarvis
