This week was absolutely wonderful! I don't really know if there are words to describe it :) I'll try.
So the week starting out a little rough. We had to schedule some lessons during our pday time because there was no other time to meet with some people and we were really worried. We were worried that we would give up our time and then the lessons would cancel or not be there and our efforts would be for nothing. But we needed to meet with these people so we prayed really hard that they would all be there. We ended up only having enough time to do email and grab some food before we had to get to our appts. By the end of the day we had made all the appts and had 3 new investigators but we were extremely worn out. The next morning we were able to get our shopping done but we were still pretty tired as we went through the day. But that night we decided before going to bed that no matter what the next day held when we woke up we would act as if we had had a completely relaxing pday and we would finish off the week strong. Well we did :) We had more lessons that week than any other and we found more than 3x the number of investigators that week than in the entire transfer. It was amazing! When we make sacrifices for a good cause we will be blessed. ...But we're not gonna be doing that again...
Last week we had Halloween, too. Since they don't have Halloween or do any trunk or treats or anything we decided that night after planning to do our own. All the sisters came to our bedroom door and I gave them candy that my companion and I had gotten and then my companion and I went to the kitchen door and we got apples and cider. It was the best Halloween ever and I didn't even have to be cold from going outside :)
Yesterday, like I said last week, we had a zone conference with Elder Teixeira, the area 70. It was one of the best experiences of my life! There is nothing like a room full of servants of the Lord coming together and learning how best to serve their fellow man. It was exactly what I needed. He talked a lot about how we often struggle with moving from concept to application. We understand and know what needs to be done but it's often the putting it into practice that is the hardest part. It is not about fixing the message but fixing the messenger. I find myself in that exact trap all the time. I often think, ok we need to do this and then we will find more people or get more referrals or be the person we want to be but then it stays there where I left it. As a thought. The problem is putting it into action. I know that when I walked out the doors of the chapel yesterday I was a changed person. We decided to put into practice what we had learned too. On the train ride home my companion and I taught the first lesson and exchanged numbers with someone who the other sisters are going to be teaching. It was the best thing ever! She was the sweetest and I truly believe we were meant to meet her :)
We never know who the Lord is trying to place in our paths. It could be someone that we've known for years and years but haven't had the confidence or didn't even realize it. But if we truly know that this is the Church of Jesus Christ then we will not be afraid to share. Love them enough to help them find their way back to Heavenly Father.
I love you all so very much! I hope you enjoy the pictures!!
Vi voglio bene,
Sorella Jarvis :)
