Ricordi Chi Sei update for Jessica 10/30/13

Buon Giorno Cari Amici!!

Mammia Mia, I hope I can get all the wonderful stories of this week down in one email! We just had such a wonderful week and a wonderful start to our transfer!! Last week we had our first activity with the Young Women in our branch. It was so great! We got to watch the Lion King in Italian (whoop whoop! so much funnier than English:) and then we talked about the themes of the movie. One of the biggest turning points in the movie is when Simba sees and hears his father. He tells him "Remember who you are" or "Ricordi chi sei." This is an important message for each and everyone one of us. We are so much more than a name or a number-- we are literal spirit children of our Father in Heaven. I know that I can't complete even comprehend all that love but I feel it more and more everyday.

So one day last week I made an alarm on our phone at 1,30 to remember to call someone. Well the thing is, here in Italy they use military time. So I should have set it for 13,30. We were all very relaxed and calm about it and I just got up and turned it off. The phone was in the other room and when I got back we all just noted how awesome it was that we still had 5 more hours of sleep. It was wonderful! When I woke up the next morning I was so happy! For the next few nights I was like, "maybe we should set an alarm at 1,30 so it seems like we get to sleep more." No one fell for it. Then we had the time change this weekend and everyone was tired on Sunday because we probably got too much sleep and I was just thinking how great it would be if we actually just got up at 2 and changed the clocks then...

Last week we were doing planning on Friday morning when we got a text message. It said that all the missionaries should go to stake conference the next night. Before we were told that if it was more than 45 minutes to travel not to go. So we had to quickly scurry and figure how to get there. You know what that means-- to the train station! So after 4 hours with 7 sister missionaries and a missed train we finally made it...half way through. But it was so great! I felt like that was truly where we needed to be on Saturday night. The stake president said that they received a letter that week from the First Presidency that the topic of Saturday Night was to be changed to "missionary work" and that all the missionaries should be in attendance. It was great to know that I was there--I worked to get there ha ha-- because the prophet asked me to. I love missionary work! A great thing we have been talking about is helping members make family mission plans. That made me think, does you family have a family mission plan? Do you have goals that you set together to encourage you? When was the last time you talk to your local missionaries or asked how you could help them in the work? Don't be afraid and don't be lazy. Life's to short to waste the little time we have :)

I got a letter from the primary this week! I cried. Love all those little kids! They know just how to make a sister missionary the happiest girl in the world!

These are my lovely sisters:

Just so you know my Pday next week will be on Thursday because we our having our area 70 come for a conference :)

I love you all!

Vi voglio bene,

Sorella Jarvis
