Buon Anno! update for Jessica 1-1-14

Happy New Year!

I hope you all just had the bestest Christmas ever! These lasts 2 weeks have been completely crazy but I have loved them so much! Christmas for us was great! In the morning we ate breakfast as an apartment and then got ready for the day and studied. After we finished our studies we did a morning devotional and then opened the presents we had made or gotten for each other. It was really funny how we all ended up getting gifts for our companions. Sorella Reni got a package with chocolate from family in Holland for all of us which was yummy. We had a huge tri-ward party and at the end they invited all of us to go up in front of everyone and we introduced ourselves. It was really sweet! They presented all 14 (yes, 14!) of us and then brought in Santa bags for each of the coppias. It was so sweet! They were full of things like pasta, and corn, and tomato paste, and pasta. Best thing ever. Not the gifts but the experience. They were thanking us and we just wanted to be thanking them. I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve here and meet some of the most loving and kind-hearted people ever!

This is Sorella Hallum, Sorella Reni, Sorella Seare, and me around our family tree :)
Afterwards we went to the Famiglia Pezzoli (the branch president and his wife). They also invited someone that the anziani are teaching who doesn't have a home right now. It was a wonderful example of love and charity. Not just that they had welcomed a man without a home into their house but they also took us in! We had a great, relaxing lunch and then played a round of Scotland Yard. So basically I got to go to London for Christmas too. Yep, that's cool.

We got to finish of the night we our calls (videos) to our families. Even though we are thousands of miles and 3 time zones apart there isn't anything that can truly separate the Jarvis family. I carry you all in my heart and my wallet (in little picture form) every day. No matter where in the world our adventures find us we are never to far apart. It was really cute the week leading up to Christmas my companion, Sorella Hallum, kept telling me she was more excited to meet my family than anything else! That's because they are such a huge part of who I am! I love you all very much, Mom, Jared, Hermana Jarvis, Ian, Gabbie, Emma, Mom mom, and Tracy!

Tanti auguri in questo bel tempo! Ricordatevi le cose importanti nella vita, specialmente la famiglia :)

Vi voglio tanto bene!!

Sorella Jarvis
They got us candy that said Virginia! (well, cookies-ish)
