Aspettate i miracoli! update for Jessica 1-15-14

Expect miracles! If you expect them, they will come!

Sorella Hallum and I started our third transfer together on Monday with a bang. We started with district meeting and then got to work. We had an appointment with one of our amazing progressing investigators who just has the strongest testimony. I love her! She has the most loving spirit ever. She has been prepared for this by Heavenly Father for a long time coming! We spent a long time talking with her and were about to be late for our next appt which was a family home evening, serata familiare, with some members. We decided to invite her and see if she wanted to come even though it was late notice. She asked us what it was and then said, sure! So we ran and caught the tram just in time.

We did the FHE at the house of my piano student (haha my piano student...). His mom bought him a keyboard for Christmas so that he could practice more while at home. He played Santi Venite and Lo Spirito Arde without even having music! Seriously he is so bravo! We had a great lesson on the Book of Mormon and she even bore testimony right along with everyone else. We didn't have time for the game but we will do it next week! At the end she even pulled out some cookies that she had brought from home. The host looked at me and said, Oh no! I prepared something "salata" which means salted aka not sweet. I said, oh that's fine. Anything is ok, it's just a little snack. Then she and her son pulled out a pot of rice and then lentils (which are now my favorite thing ever) then rolls and salad and drinks. I was like, whaattt?? Haha, so much for refreshment! It was really awesome because in our mission we don't eat dinner...There's no time for that. So it was fun to kind of actually eat dinner.

Then yesterday morning all of our appts cancelled. And our back ups did too. We decided to call someone we'd been trying to meet with but had had no luck. Well she answered and said we could see here in 30 minutes! It was amazing!! She invited her friend to come to the lesson too. We had her read the first vision and she started to cry. It was amazing! We talked about baptism and she just said, I will do anything to know the truth!

Heavenly Father is preparing people around us all the time. We have had experiences when people say no, yeah but those people who find the missionaries are so rare or people don't actually want to listen or hear. Well, the answer is always no until you ask. So what's the harm? It hurts my heart to know that there are people out there that truly do not understand their purpose in this life. We can help them. All of us. I was reading during personal study this morning and was truly struck by how the prophets and apostles emphasize that those of us here now were saved to be here now. We are here because we are strong. We have a strong part in the building up of the kingdom of the Lord. Ask yourselves, what have I done lately to help my fellow man?

Che Dio vi benedica,

Sorella Jarvis

This is what the world thinks of the US. This is called American pizza :) Hot dogs and fries...

First it was egg on the pizza now it is fries and hot dogs. I had real chuckle with this kind. American pizza not sure if I want to try it. (Nicole)
