Last week I wrote about a sister who we had just met and was really excited
for baptism. Throughout the week we had 2 more lessons with her and brought
members from church that she could meet and then she and her friend came to
church. It was so amazing! We saw her yesterday and she said she had never
experienced church like ours and was so happy! She can't wait for the day to be
a part of Christ's church too. We had a lesson with her last week with the
Relief Society first counselor. She asked her when she was baptized and she
answered when she was 18 years old. Our investigator said, Wow, you are so
lucky. If I had known these things at your age my life could have been so much
better. I might not have had to suffer so much. It was hard to think about at
first but then we told her. Every one of our experiences in life make us who we
are. This sister might have needed to find the church when she was young to lay
a plan for her life and prepare her for the trials she would face. Every thing
that has happened in your life has lead up to you being able to accept this now.
Now you are ready. Now you can be freed and choose this for the rest of your
life.
Sometimes we get a little insecure looking back on our decisions because
maybe we don't think we were ready or we wish things could have been different.
We are quite fortunate to have a Loving Heavenly Father who completely
understands. Heavenly Father places challenges, friends, family, missionaries--
whatever it may be-- in our life at the time when we need them. Truth is truth
regardless of opinion. Remember every day how precious those last few moments
before we go to bed are. The time when we can kneel down humbly in prayer and
ask our Heavenly Father for the answers to any questions.
Don't forget the blessings that come from fasting and don't forget the answers you've already received to your prayers.
I love you all very much! Take care and have fun celebrating your
birthdays...BRob, Courtney, Tat, Chelsea, Kelsey and all you others that I will
remember tomorrow but forget by next Wednesday.
