Woah! Christmas is in 2 days! I can hardly believe it :) We have some
exciting plans :) Sister Sowder and I will be spending Christmas with the
Hardgrave family from our Ward. They are going to have about 15 people there so
I think that it is going to feel just like home. I am so excited.
Also, with my personal study in the morning I have been reading the New
Testament and my love of the Savior has grown sooooo much. I love that Christ
was born so that He could save us all. I know that it was part of the Plan of
Salvation and that Christ's life was the central part of the plan so that we can
all learn what we need to do to return to live with our Father in Heaven once
again. I am so grateful that I am on a mission and that I have this time to
really strengthen and develop my testimony because I am learning so much more
about myself, about Jesus Christ, and about the importance of my family. I have
always loved my family but it is amazing my how much I have learned this last
year about how truly important my family is to me. I get to talk to them in 2
days! Count them... 2 days... and there is nothing more that I want for
Christmas than to talk to the ones I love :)
This week has been awesome too. Sister Sowder got here Tuesday from the MTC
and we set off for our new area in Greeley. Things were a little rough that
first day because our car was in the shop and we didnt know exactly where we
were living. I thought we were gonna have a repeat of an experience I had a few
transfers ago but thankfully we figured it out and were finally able to move in.
Wednesday was crazy too because we didnt have a car and we didnt know anyone in
the Ward. We had no info for the area. We finally had a meeting with the elders
and we were able to get some names of people to visit. Unfortunately we had to
walk everywhere but I felt like a hard core misisonary because it was so cold.
And I was grateful that we were diligent. And we were able to meet some really
awesome people :)
Yesterday at church we were telling the ward council about the families we
met with and they were all amazed at the fact we were able to get in :) I love
it! Being a missionary is amazing because we can have a different impact
especially when you are new and its freezing and you are walking around. But we
finally were able to get a car and it has been amazing to see how much more we
are able to get done. Seriously the work is growing already. I look forward to
all that we are able to do here :)
I love you! Sorry there are no pictures this week :( I will do better next
week :)
Con carino,
Hermana Jarvis
