Ringraziamento update for Jessica 12-4-13

This week was full of greatness! It is the start of a new transfer which means many great things! Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to Sorella Smart (front left) but I know she will do great things in Lodi! In her honor we sent her off in a sugar coma :)
So as everybody already knows Italians don't have Thanksgiving. But we Americans and one Canadian are so lucky to have the best Relief Society President and her husband. They invited us over for a royal feast! She tried so hard to make it authentic and then added a couple English funzies as well. We had all 6 missionaries from our branch and it was just great! We read together in True to the Faith about gratitude. I really appreciated how it says when we are grateful we are happy because we're thinking about all that we have and not focusing on negatives. I love it! Best advice ever. When you are unhappy or things aren't going your way think of everything that's going right, that makes you happy no matter what :) At the end we all went around and said what we're grateful for! Fratello Favaretto said that he was grateful to have us all in his house to celebrate this holiday not for us but for our parents, for our families, so that they'll know that no matter where in the world we may find ourselves we are taken care of. Our brothers and sisters in the church will always be there to take care of us missionaries.

It was Sorella Hallum's birthday on Sunday! We were lucky enough to fast which made the cake I made her taste even better!!

So many things to say but not enough hours in the day!!! But I love you all and just know that I did get some missionary work in too :)

Vi voglio tanto bene,

Sorella Jarvis

Mom here: I am so grateful that my girls are being taken care of while they are away. I loved having the many missionaries over to our home. We spent some wonderful times together. Those missionaries expanded my faith and were great examples to my kids. I know that's why they were placed in our path at those particular times for my kids to see what a missionary is all about. I will be forever grateful to them. Thank you. I love you all. Nicole

Here is a picture of Jessica's favorite boots that I need to find a replacement for. She has worn them out since May.
