Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas! (pt. 1) update for Meagan 12/9/13
Wednesday we got a huge snowstorm. Ok so it wasn't that huge but the killer part has been that it is sooooooo cold!!!!! Unbelievably cold. And it is still like that! So cold that the other morning I go out to warm up the car and look what the thermometer says...
Yikes!!!! But on the bright side there really isn't any humidity so it doesn't feel quite that cold. Probably the same coldness as a 10 degree day in Virginia. But let me tell you! Knocking on doors is miserable when it is this cold. On Thursday I went on exchanges with Hermana Cropper and we were trying to find some of their potential investigators. We outside for probably 45 minutes at a time and it was 8 degrees. It was FREEZING! We weren't able to find anyone but we were able to meet with a less active lady and go inside and warm up a bit!
And mom! You would be proud. I finally got a pair of boots because it was so miserably cold!
Thursday night we also got together as a zone and even though it was only 3 degrees we went caroling on the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder. A few people stopped to hear us sing and a lady even asked if we were a choir so that was pretty neat. I had a pack of hot hands that a member had given us at dinner because we were gonna go out into the cold. I ended up giving them to this homeless man who looked frozen. I didn't have any money to get him a hot chocolate but I hope that those hand warmers were able to make some sort of difference for him that night.
What a wonderful week!
