There is nothing like being a Missionary! update for Meagan 9-9-2013

She loves me yeah yeah yeah!!! Yep my Meagan loves me.(Nicole)

I don't know about you all but time is absolutely flying by for Hermana Mangum and I! This week has been full of visiting with people from church and it has been so much fun!!!

This week I had exchanges with Sister Nielsen!!!
She is such a great missionary!!! This is her 2nd transfer in the field. Her and her companion are actually training themselves right now. They were in the MTC together and our mission president didn't have any more missionaries who could train and so they were out together and have been working hard ever since. What an inspiration!!! It was so much fun getting to spend the day learning from another missionary. We had a blast! Also the night that we were together we had dinner with a wonderful family in our ward. The wife made the most amazing peach pie!!! So yummy. I lost weight in a Spanish area (Only Heavenly Father knows how...) and I am gonna gain it all back here in Broomfield.

Other fun story for the week :) On Wednesday, Hermana Mangum and I went and visited Sister Colton! She is 89 years old and sweet as can be. No joke!!!! I love her so much. We knocked on her door and her son came and let us in and she cheered right up. I have learned that if you ever need a good pick-me-up, go visit Sister Colton. Don't worry, Hermana Mangum and I are going to try and get a picture together next week!! She loves the ""lady" missionaries. She hasn't seen any of us for a really long time and she just thinks we are so beautiful. "Angels, I tell ya. You're just angels." She def brightened my day. I have decided that when I am 89, I want to be as cheerful as Sister Colton. There is no other way to live life except being happy.

Today Hermana Mangum and I are moving into a new home. I am so sad to be leaving our house now. The lady we live with is sooooo wonderful. Every Saturday she makes us breakfast. Pancakes with strawberry yogurt, homemade canned cinnamon apples, and syrup to top it all off. They are soooo delicious. And I'm not even a big fan of pancakes but these are delicious. I want to learn how to can things when I get home so I can have these apples. They are amazing! She can also speak Spanish because she served a mission in Guatemala. Such a blessing! Haha these are her two silly pets :) The cat is Frodo and he scares me but he gets along great with Coalford the dog! It has been so nice being around animals again.

I added the pictures after I wrote this paragraph and so it was the spanish and the food from the previous paragraph that reminded me of my next story... FYI

Which brings me to my next story! Food and Spanish! And this one combines the two. The Spanish sisters who are serving in Boulder invited us to dinner with them. They were invited to have dinner with this hispanic family and they asked if we could come along. I loved it. I didn't realize how much I had missed the hispanic culture, the food, and all the fun times! I seriously love learning Spanish and being involved with the people. It was a struggle in the beginning and I couldn't really see myself loving it when it just seemed to make everything so hard but now it is hard being away from it. I hope that one day soon I will be back in a spanish area. that would be a dream come true. Also, can I tell you what we had for dinner! Enchiladas!!! Yummy :) I was in heaven! And we had rice and beans. No tortillas but you cant be too choosy. I was so happy. It was just what I needed and it was Hermana Mangum's first experience at a Spanish dinner. I wish I would have thought to take a picture but I didn't. Hopefully some day soon I will get better at taking pictures but who knows... we shall see. The best thing about the night was I was able to share the message. And I got the impression to read Helaman 5:12 and spoke about how our foundation needs to be in Christ. I know that when we have our foundation in Christ that all the bad things that happen will not prevail against us. I love this Gospel and the opportunity that I have to share my testimony everyday. It is a blessing and I know that I am where I need to be. I love this Gospel and I am so grateful to know that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me and is preparing the way before me to accomplish all that I need to. I love you all and am grateful for your support and love. The emails and letters are so wonderful.

Anyways, I gotta run!!! Shout out to Gabbie for sending me some mail! I loved it :) You da best!!!!!

Also shout out to Emma and Ian! I miss you guys sooooooooo much. Good luck with Verona voices and orff bemba!!!!
