Miei Cari!
Come state?? How are ya?
I hope you're all doing well!! Just another exciting and super fast week here in good 'ole Bergamo. I love this city. I love being a missionary. It's so great!
This week we had a double scambio (double exchange) with the Sister Training Leaders again. I was a little worried because I'd only been here for 2 weeks and Bergamo is a lot bigger than Mestre but there is a reason we say miracle scambios :) We always pray for and expect miracles on scambios. There is so much power in learning from another missionary. Before every apt I prayed that I would know how to get there and arrive on time. (Also, side note. We were on the bus. This was my second time taking the bus and it's a completely different system than I finally got used to in Mestre). But we were taken care of the whole way and we got to every appt without incident :) Yes! Well, sometimes we missed a stop or 2 but it all worked out. Specifically we had 2 lessons on Saturday that were absolutely amazing. Both of the families are from Bolivia and Sorella Gomez is from Mexico. They spoke in spanish a ton and miraculously I could understand for the most part. It was crazy! I couldn't speak spanish to save my life but at least I can understand ish hehe
So the other day I wrote something in my journal that I really want to share. I wrote, "The mission is hard but as it is often said, if it wasn't then it wouldn't be worth it. We know we need to be strong and be leaders but sometimes even the toughest wall has a crack or a loose brick that someone else needs to fix. So now, I'm the brick wall. Sometimes I feel too freshly built , I can't stand on my own, I can't hold all the weight and I get cracks. But the Savior knows. He's always there with a fresh bucket of cement to fill in the holes left behind by others or smooth out the rough edges. We can be made new through His sacrifice. And it's my call-- that I wear over my heart every day-- to take a small bucket to those who only see the cracks. To clear the path where the Master can come in."
It turned into to a little bit of a ramble from late-night writing but the message is still the same. All of us have cracks. Our weaknesses, our strengths, our faults, our talents that make us who we are. But no matter what struggles we have the Savior came help us. If we humble ourselves enough to ask for help and we sincerely try day after day we can become a new wall :)
The Book of Mormon has become my best friends and one of the best sources of counsel. We have been reading 2 Nephi 31:20 a lot in our lessons lately and I really love this verse. Life is full of trials, of hardships, or personal sacrifices-- we can expect that. But the test is if we can endure-- endure well-- to the end. If we do, we will have la vita eternal, eternal life. What a beautiful promise that is :)
I love you all very much! Tell me about you adventures!!
Love you!
Vi voglio bene!
