"Que Pasa?!" Email from Sister Jarvis 3/4/2013

What?!!!! My little brother is a super star! Those pictures are sweet! I am so so so proud :) I hope everything goes well and that the game is great tomorrow :) I will keep you all in my prayers. Send me videos if you can cuz I would love to see them. I am pretty sure that is ok :)

Life is pretty great here in Greeley, Colorado :) We just had transfers so we are getting a few new people in. I am pretty excited. I am glad that we are staying here though because there are so many good things going on right now :)

One of our investigators came to church this last Sunday and it was awesome :) Coolest feeling ever. He hasnt had much religious background at all so here was working hard to keep up on what a lot of people were talking about but I think he really enjoyed it. We are going to have another lesson with him this week!

We had a lesson with a woman from Thailand! That was super cool. I couldnt understand her very well but she let us in and we were able to talk about the Restoration. I had some granola bars in my bag and her 2 little children went in my bag and pulled them out and started to eat them. That was pretty crazy and super funny at the same time. But it kept them calm so it worked out. She said the closing prayer in Thai which was super awesome. What a beautiful language! But about the only thing that I really understood was "Amen" but its whatever! What an awesome experience.

Yesterday we tracked into a guy who lives with his mom. I am pretty sure the only reason he let us come in and share a message with him was because he thought Hna Earl was cute so we gotta be careful now but hey, he is one step closer to salvation because of it. We are going back on Wednesday to teach him about the Restoration so we shall see how it goes. After we left his house we said we were gonna go and grab some dinner and after about an hour, on our way to our next appt, he called us to see if we gave him the right number because I guess he thought we were playing a joke on him or something... super weird. But he doesnt speak a lick of Spanish so we will have to refer him to the English Elders so that works out.

We also got to help a lady and her son move out of their apartment on Thursday. It was nice because it is like the 3rd or 4th move that we have helped with and she was the only one who actually had stuff packed and was ready to go so it only took us about 2 hours to finish the job. She is actually moving to Orem, UT and may live in the same housing complex that I lived in... That was pretty cool. Her husband is already living up there because that is where his job is. Super cool.

We met with a family a few nights ago and we just spent a little bit talking and getting to know each other, when I told them that I had just started learning Spanish 3 months ago they were blown away. That made me feel super good because most of the time I feel like it is really hard to communicate. They were super nice and even invited us to come back for dinner one night. I love that about the Spanish culture... They are always inviting us over to eat even when we dont really know them.

My ankle is doing better! I still cant run which is super annoying. Well I can run but for only about 30 feet until the pain starts but I am able to walk faster so that is a great start.

This week we were finally able to accomplish one of our goals to get 20 lessons in one week. It doesnt sound like a lot but because we are in the car a lot it is difficult to get a lot of lessons in but we were finally able to do it. It was a really neat experience and hopefullly this week we will be able to keep it up and improve more. We are going to do our best.

Saturday night Hna Earl and I ate dinner at Taco Bell because we didnt have a dinner appt and a man came up to us and gave us $20 for our meal. That was super awesome. People are so so wonderful! We are planning to go get ice cream or something to celebrate our 20 lessons.

It is sad to because the weekend was so so beautiful. Sunday it was in the 60s or so and most of the day I was just out in a cardigan (way better than having to wear a coat) and then this morning it was also super warm, I thought it was gonna be another beautiful day but around 11 am it started to pour down snow. SO CRAZY! They werent even calling for snow from what I hear. JUst some crazy wind storms... But I guess it just brought some snow with it. I kinda like it expecially since it is Monday and we dont actually have to go out in it. We shall see if it keeps going. I honestly wouldnt mind. We need the snow bad if the farmers are gonna be able to do anything this summer.

My testimony is growing a lot. It is amazing to me to see how Heavenly Father helps us from day to day and most of the time minute to minute. And I know He is def helping me learn because before I wasnt doing so hot but know I am able to recall scriptures and we have even been able to do some memorizing. I like it. I love being here and serving the people. It is cool to see how diffferent people's lives are. I love it.

And I love all of you :)

Hna Jarvis
