"Plum out of Energy" Email from Sister Jarvis 3/25/2013

This week has been wonderful but most memorable would probably be this weekend :)

Jessica got special permission to come visit me!!!!!!!!!!!! Wahooooooooo :)

It was so much fun and just what I needed. We didnt get to spend too much time together but it was great. Oh man! How much I miss you all :)

Gabbie... I heard you broke your leg... That stinks! We match for the year! Me with my boot and you with yours :) How cool?! How long do you have to be in the boot for? Hopefully not long. That will stink. I gave Jess some pointers for you! I am sure you are on crutches right now but when you get off of them, Find a pair of high heels that are about the height of the boot and it will make walking so much easier.

So last week was kinda a slow week. We had our volunteer service at the food bank on Tuesday because on Thurs there was a training in Fort Collins that my trainer had to go to. So that was fun but it made Tues a short day. Then on Wednesday we had our District Meeting for the missionaries that are in my district and after that, Hna Earl had a doctors appt in Fort Collins. And since Fort Collins is out of our zone we had Sister Clouston give us a ride (She is the member that we live with :) Fort Collins was super fun. It was super surreal because Jess, Mom and I had visited Fort Collins when Jess was a senior because she was looking at a college there. (PS I am super glad you didnt go there Jess... They have a really massive drug problem) Sister Clouston took us to the downtown where we were able to walk around for a bit which was super fun and we got icecream at this super adorable place. I got Cinnamon Crumbcake.... And seriously it is memorable :) Best icecream ever!!!!!!! I cant even describe it. I want to serve in Fort Collins just so I can go back to that place hahahahaha After we finished in Fort Collins, Sister Clouston gave us the scenic drive home. It was beautiful and some of the homes we saw were HUGGGGGGGGGEEEE!!!! And so amazing. Thursday was a fun day too but I wasnt really feeling to well. Like I said earlier, Sister Earl (my trainer) and a training meeting so I went on splits with 2 other Sisters. It was super fun! We worked in a Singles Ward which is super different than than the family ward. I hope one day I will be able to serve in a Singles Ward but we shall see! Friday I got super sick.... We woke up and did our morning half hour of exericise and then we had a  service project that we went to that only took about an hour of so... Well when we got back to the house I was wiped! I had the worst sore throat that I had ever had!!!! My body hurt and I just was all plum out of energy! So Sister Earl said that it would be ok to just take a little nap and see how I felt... Oh and I also had a little bit of a fever... Yuck... Well I ended up sleeping the ENTIRE day. Seriously, I finally got out of bed at 530pm.... After sleeping most of the time.... It was magical. And then after I woke up Sister Earl and I did some planning and it was off to sleep again... I had zero trouble going back to sleep and I slept the entire night. Magic! In total we counted up and I slept for a total of 18 hours that day. Then Saturday was here. I felt a lot better. I only had a slight sore throat and we had a fun day ahead of us. Well Friday and Saturday it had snowed quite a bit so some of our plans got cancelled but we still had a fun day! AND JESS CAME THIS DAY!!! I was so so so so so happy. She came to our dinner with us and went to visit a member with us too. It was super fun. I loved it. I was so happy and by the end of the night my sore throat was gone and I felt way better! I was still really tired but we had a lot of fun. Sundays are wonderful days! I got to see Jessica and wish her a safe trip and give her some super hugs (Make sure you get one from me, from her :) and then it was off to church! I love church. We have one investigator who comes regularly and we had a couple less active families come that we had visited so it felt really great. I am starting to understand more and more which feels so great. There is an Elder that came out with me and he hasnt progressed as much in spanish as I have and I can really tell how much I have learned. I wish I could have talked more in Spanish with Jess!!! But anyways super fun! We also had some super wonderful lessons. We had 4 to 5 investigators that our really progressing. It is amazing to  see their faith building and how they are starting to make God a bigger part of their lives. It is rewarding to know that our work is being successful but more importantly than that, it is amazing to see how much Heavenly Father is truly guided us to those who are ready for the Gospel. He is so powerful and aware of everything that is happening around us. It is no wonder that the work is progressing so much. What a blessing it is to be on a mission :)

And now let me tell you about today!!!!!!!!!! So so so fun! There is another set of sisters in our zone. Sister Donovan (from N. Va) and Sister Zvirzden. We decided that we wanted to go to the border where Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming meet up. It is the only place in our mission where we can do it and we had the miles to be able to and so we did!!!! It was hilarious :) We ended up not even being able to find the border signs but along the way we had some real fun! We stopped off at different point of interest places  and were able to see some very beautiful scenery! SO much fun! And lots of laughs! I am so grateful to be able to have fun and enjoy the time here on my mission. For lunch we stopped in this little timy town in northern CO called Grover... It was tiny so cute. Also at one point in our trip we were in the middle of nowhere and we were on this dirt road.... We were coming up to the top of this hill and as soon as we got to the top there was a dump truck that was taking up the whole road just 30 feet in front of us. All of us screamed and I was instantly saying a prayer!!!! Luckily the truck was able to get over and we were pulling onto the very edge of the road... Talk about an adrenaline rush! SUper fun! I am gonna send some pictures!!! We took a ton!

OH also! On this trip. Whenever we saw an old abandoned house or barn or something we pulled out and went exploring! Super fuN! and a little scary but for the most part super fun! We would make up stories and try and figure out who lived there and how it got so run down. In one of the places we found a newspaper from 1963... That was super cool!

I love it! and I love all of you :) I am so grateful to be on a mission and I am so grateful for the knowledge I am gaining. This experience is something I will remember forever!

Les amo,

Hna Jarvis
