"Hola from Greeley, CO" Email from Sister Jarvis 2/26/2013

Hey everyone!

How are things going? It is killing me to know how Ian's basketball stuff turned out!

Have you guys had any snow lately? We had some earlier in the week and then yesterday we got dumped on! We had about 20 minutes of church and then they cancelled it. We hung around talking to the Elders and to our Stake Pres which was really fun and then we went and hung out at a members house for a few hours. It was pretty great. Hna Saucedo, the member, found out last week that she has arthritis in her back and so she has been pretty much confined to her bed for the last week so we go over a couple times a week. She is super great. After we visited her we found out that Pres Toombs (the Mission Pres) suspended all driving for the day and unless you have proper winter clothes(which I dont) you had to stay inside all day. Hna Earl and I were super bummed because we had a lot of work to do yesterday and we werent able to do anything. Luckily we got one lesson in but out goal is to have at least 3 a day. Anyways, we just stayed inside all day playing different games with Hna Clouston, the member that we live with. It was tons of fun! We played Clue and a variation of Scrabble. It was so nice to spend the day in jeans and a sweatshirt too. It was so so cold so I was grateful! Then last night before we got ready for bed we played a game of Dice Phase 10!  Now that is a fun game :) I need to own it when I get home! Unfortunately with this snow I also hurt my ankle. Hopefully not to bad but I do look pretty funny trying to walk. Every morning we go on a half hour walk and twice, this morning, I stepped on some ice that made me role my ankle. The second time I about lost it. But I took some ibprofen and hopefully nothing too bad is wrong.

The rest of the week was pretty wonderful too! We had some pretty great lessons and had a lot of fun in between. We went to this really delicious chinese restaurant. It was so good. I'm pretty sure it was called Ambrosia. And we also went to Sonic this week with some of the Elders. Super fun! The Elders go there practically every day and so we got some special treatment haha Sabra (the server) gave us about 50 thousand mints... It was hilarious and I have no idea how we are going to eat them all!

I am starting to speak more in lessons too which is pretty awesome! I love speaking Spanish! Well, at least attempting too. A lot of the branch members say they can understand me so that is pretty good and they can see how much I am improving and hopefully I will just keep improving.

Today Hna Clouston is taking us out for P-day. I'm not sure what we are doing yet but I am excited. There is essentially nothing fun to do here in Greeley, it is such a quite town, but we are gonna find something to do!

I hope all is well! Miss you all and love you all!

PS...

Good news first!

The city of Fort Collins approved the Temple and so hopefully this spring they will start construction on the Fort Collins Temple :) How sweet is that!!!!

Second, we found out this week that my mission is getting split up. They are creating a new mission, the Colorado, Fort Collins mission, which I will probably be in come July. It is pretty crazy! There is a possiblity that I wont even be in the same mission as my trainer in 5 months. Its nuts!!! I will most likely get a new mission president... Weird but it is pretty awesome too. We shall see what happens.

Welp, gotta run! Love you all again <3
