How was your Christmas?! Thanks for the dearelder! I love reading those at night before I go to bed. It always puts me to sleep with a smile.
My week has been really great!! It started off a little rough. I was really struggling with the whole broken ankle thing and being on crutches and having everyone else carry my stuff and get me lunch tray and all that was just very difficult. Saturday and Sunday were focused on the atonement because that was our topic for church on Sunday and during Relief Society it really hit me that I need to be grateful for the help of others and not just grateful for them willing to help me but I needed to be grateful for everything that they have done for me and essentially I needed to be grateful for my broken ankle. IT was really hard. I feel like I have never really been the person who likes to rely on people but how and I supposed to know how to rely on the Savior if I do not know how to rely on others here in mortality. So I had some digging to do and I needed to find out what was my true problem and once I was able to figure that out, I prayed for help, guidance, love, and understanding. I realized that if I was going to utilize the atonement in my life then I had to do it 100% and since doing that I have realized that my week here has been better. my attitude is better and I find more joy and happiness in my calling.
Also I forgot to tell you that when I broke my ankle I prayed to know what I should learn from this experience. I didn't ask "why me" or any of those other typical questions that I am used to asking but for knowledge, for something that would help me and Heavenly Father answered my prayers. What a blessing. I cannot even begin to tell you how many of my prayers have been answered in the time that I have been learning here but let me tell you! It works! Anytime and any place... If you are struggling ask for understanding and in time it will come.
This week has been super wonderful! You all have heard a little bit about it with my email home on Christmas. haha
I love my MTC experience. This week we got a new investigator and he didn't want to let us in at first but eventually he allowed us to come in and share a message with him. The lesson went really great. We already have a plan for what we will teach him next time because we asked him to think of some questions that he may have! I love teaching :) It is hard but my Spanish is improving little by little. I can hardly believe I have been here for a month already!!! Days feel like weeks and weeks feel like days is a common phrase used here and it is so true. You jump in so fast and before you know it time is up. I look forward to meeting those I will serve in Colorado though I cannot wait to get started.
This gospel is true. There is nothing else that I am more certain of. And I hope that I will play a special role in helping others come unto Christ. I love you all very much and I hope that you are all will. Keep me posted on life and bball :) And the dogs haha I miss them too!!!
Con amor,
