"I'M TRAINING!!!" Email from Sister Jarvis 4/16/2013

Hello Everyone!

What a whirlwind of an adventure this past little bit has been! I cannot begin to even tell you everything.

But coolest thing so far is training! Hna Hill came in yesterday and she is my new companion! She is actually a visa waiter so one day in the future she will be on her way to Mendosa, Argentina. Where arent even sure how long we will be companions. But I am grateful for all the time that we will have together because I have a lot to learn from her. I am grateful to be on a mission!!! What an amazing blessing.

Yesterday we got about 18 inches of snow and had to drive to Broomfield which is about an hour and a half away... We ended up getting stranded in Broomfield and spent the night at the mission home. IT was AWESOME!  Who knew there were sleepovers on the mission!!! I am pretty sure it wont happen again. But it was so much fun!!! Sister Toombs made us a delicious breakfast and we did some of our studies there. We are now back in Greeley and ready to get to work!!! I am excited!

Sister Hill IS GREAT! She speaks very good spanish and she is super ready to just get out and go! We have some really great lessons lined up for today and she is just ready to teach everything :) She is from Orem, Utah so that is pretty cool since I lived there. She is super legit. She even played lacrosse for BYU. I am really excited to see what these next few transfers have in store for us!!!

WE HAVE A BAPTISM THIS WEEKEND!!!! I am so excited. Evaline is getting baptised! She is so amazing and she is really excited to make this change. So this week on top of training and trying to figure everything out, I am also trying to figure out how to organize a baptism. Super fun and way stressful but every day is an adventure and I will totally take it!!! Sister Earl even got permission to come to the baptism so I will be able to see her this weekend!! Such a blessing!!! I am in heaven.

We are so blessed with investigators too! Santos, Juanita, y Chantae are really loving everything they are learning! Santos y Juanita are even talking about marriage now because they want to get baptised!!! So hopefully in the next 6 ish weeks we can have a wedding and 3 baptisms! I am really getting excited!

I love being a missionary! I am seriously developing such a greater appreciation for church and for my testimony. And one of the biggest things I think that I have learned is the importance of following the Spirit. Heavenly Father knows each and everyone of us so well that He knows exactly what we need and exactly when we need it and as we follow the commandments, as we try our best to fulfill our responsibilities, He will truly bless us with everything that we need. Both big and small He will help us out. I have been having a hard time sleeping lately because there is just so much going on in my brain and as soon as I ask for help to fall asleep, stay asleep, and that the night will feel long, I have truly come to see how great Heavenly Father is because even my sleep is important to Him and when I remember to ask for this help, I have noticed that I sleep better, I am able to stay asleep, and that the night is longer.

When we went to pick up our new mission companions yesterday, President Toombs (mission president) really emphasized the importance of miracles. Ask for miracles and Expect that they will happen. As we do our part, as we are obedient to the things the Lord has asked us to do, He is obligated to bless us therefore we are able to expect these blessings because we are able to know that we are doing the right things. I am so grateful for this Gospel. To know that the Church of Jesus Christ is on the earth again is such a blessing and that through this church we are able to learn the steps to live with Him forever and with our families forever is such a great thing that we know and that not many people know. That is the importance of missionary work. That is why we do what we do. To help out brothers and sisters return to live with our Father in Heaven and we have tools to teach them the way. I challenge you to pray for a name, for someone who is in need of this gospel, for someone who is prepared to hear the missionary and give that name to the missionaries. Heavenly Father is real. He is alive and He is waiting for us to seek him and learn His ways. I know that there are people He is preparing to hear the message of the Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ and it is our responsibility to find them. I know that is true. Just as I know that this church is true. There is no greater priviledge than to be able to be called a missionary and share salvation with others.

I love you all and I am grateful for everything you all do to support me!

Thanks so much for the package!!! It is great and exactly what I needed!

And Jess the Spanish Preach My Gospel is exactly what I needed! Thank you! You are the greatest!

Les amo tanto,

Hna Jarvis
