"Fan the Flame of Your Faith" Email from Sister Jarvis

Fan the flame of you faith! What wonderful counsel from Elder Holland this weekend. That was probably my favorite quote this weekend. Second would have to also be by Elder Holland when he said, "It's like trying to stuff a turkey through the beak." I almost lost it, that was so funny. I have really gained a greater appreciation for Elder Holland ever since he spoke to us at the MTC.

We had 3 of our investigators watch Conference so that was AWESOME!!! Saturday we went to a family in one of the english wards and they supplied us with yummy junk food and we relaxed all day and watched Conference. And Sunday we watched the morning session in Spanish with our investigators Santos, Juana, and Chauntee. It was reallly cool watching it in Spanish. I didnt get all of what was said but I definitely enjoyed it! If someone could email me Pres. Monson's Sunday morning talk and Pres. Uchtdorf's talk I would be supremely grateful! For Sunday afternoon we went to our investigator, Evaline's, house. That was loads of fun! We made some yummy food, shared a message and watched Conference. Who can ask for a better day! I really loved it. For dinner we went and had leftovers with the family in the english ward and then we were off to work. During the Sunday morning session Sister Earl and I received a referral from a ward member and she had set up the appt and everything :) So last night we went over to her house and the lesson was amazing! The lady was receptive to everything we said. She wants to find God in her life and wants her family to have that relationship too. She has a son and daughter who could be baptised too and a son who is 7. So we are really excited to see what the Lord has in store for this family. It is so wonderful finding families! They already have that support system within their home and it is amazing how necessary it is to have that support. So in the last 2 weeks we have found 2 families and from those 2 families there are 5 potential baptisms and that is not including their friends and other family that we are going to start teaching which amounts to almost 10 people who are interested in taking the discussions. What a blessing. So bad I have the potential to leave next week. Transfers are on Monday so I could be leaving the good ole town of Greeley, Co but most likely I will be staying and training...Which is terrifying! I find out on Saturday what the plan is so we shall see how it goes.

I am really excited for this week! On Thursday Sister Earl and I are going to the Denver Temple!!!! Wahoo!!! I am so looking forward to it. Jess go to the temple as frequently as you can before you leave and you too Carra! PS when are you sending in your papers! I want to know everything. But anyways, I am really excited. A girl named Telsha is giving us a ride down there! And then we will come back and have our P-day then. So today we are working which is kinda hard because P-days are essential.

The Spanish is coming along pretty well. I am getting more comfortable talking with people and it is so much fun learning a new language.. Granted it is frustrating most of the days but when you find people to teach and can see how the message of the Gospel is truly changing their lives, it is truly a miracle. I dont know if I have ever seen anything like it before. It makes my heart happy too see. And my testimony is growing so much. I love this work and I truly love being a missionary. Most days are long but every day is a new adventure and I think one of the greatest things that I am learning on my mission is how to love people. Charity is a Christ like attribute that I need to work on and is something that you can never have too much. The pure love of Christ is such a powerful love. It is like nothing I have ever experienced before.

I love you all! I hope everything is going well. I pray for you all frequently.

Hna Jarvis
