Hola mi familia!
Como han estado? Les extrano muchisimo! ( How have you all been? I miss you tons!!!)
This past week has been wonderful and one of the hardest weeks of my mission so far. Not hard in a "I am struggling" kinda way but hard in the way that I was pushed to my limits and it was good.
Training is super fun, way humbling, and kinda tough but Sister Hill is so awesome! We get along super well and we work well together too! I am super grateful :) On Friday was were super busy with a bunch of different things but we wanted to make sure that we met with some of our investigators. We did 2 hours of service, 3 hours of studies, 2 and a half hours of weekly planning and we were able to get 6 lessons in that day! It was super super awesome. 6 is the most lessons that I have ever gotten in a day and it took Sister Earl and I a while till we were able to accomplish that goal. So it was awesome. We are hoping to get 7 in a day this week. I think that would be so sweet. Exhausting but totally worth it. Staying busy is so much more fun!!!
Saturday, EVALINE WAS BAPTISED!!!!! What a special experience that was to be apart of it. WE had such a wonderful day and Sister Earl and her companion were given special permission to come too! It was stressful because this was the first baptism that I have ever planned and I forgot about a lot of different things but all in all it was a truly amazing day! Sister Earl and I sang a musical number which was terrifying but it was super fun too. I felt the Spirit so strong and a lot of Evaline's family was able to come and watch so hopefully this will open up some doors for them to hear the Gospel. Oh on the program they spelt my name as Hermana Chavez... I truly feel like a true hispanic now... Our branch mission leader stood up to announce the closing prayer and asked who Sister Chavez was and I raised my hand and a lot of people laughed because it was my named spelt Spanishly. We all got a kick out of that. 3 of our investigators came to the baptism as well and they loved it so much. It was great. We had about 40 ish people show up. It was awesome! There was barely enough room for everyone. After the baptism we went to Evaline's house and had a BBQ with carne asada and some other amazing food! I was in heaven and it was just fun to be involved with the family and being able to talk to all of them.
Sunday she received the gift of the Holy Ghost and the prayer was beautiful :) I dont ever want to forget how happy I was to be involved with Evaline's journey.
Santos, Juanita, and Chantae(daughter) and really learning a lot. I am really excited for them. We are hoping to have their wedding in a few weeks and have their baptisms soon after that. It would be so so special to be involved with their wedding and baptisms. I am super excited! They are really doing great. and are developing some great friendships in our branch. And Chantae loves primary which is so great. She really looks forward to coming to church. I can hardly believe they have been coming for a month now.
We found another one of our investigators who disappeared for about 2 weeks. She got a new job and has been having some other troubles so it has been super hard for her but we are hoping that we will be able to meet with her again this week. I am just so happy that we were able to find her.
We are also teaching this other family. THe mom's name is Fanny and they are wonderful. We are working really hard with them and hpefullly we can get them to church this next Sunday. I think that Church will be something that they really love. I am really excited .
Everything else is going great. I am loving the work. It is such a wonderful thing to be helping others find there way in this life.
I love you all and I hope you have a wonderful week!!!! Con cuidado! (Be safe)
