Hey everyone!!!
Today has been a great great day!!! P-days (Preparation Days) are super great :) and now I have clean laundry! Super great feeling!
I wrote something like 6 letters today so that was super fun and I got in some really needed scripture study to prepare for our lesson with our investigator tonight! It is really fun teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and inviting others to come unto Christ. I don't know if I have ever experienced such a comforting Spirit before! This week we invited our investigator, Jose, to be baptized and he said that he would prepare himself. Hopefully our next lesson we can set a date! So very exciting.
My companions are super duper wonderful! I love Hermana Hendrickson so much. She is from San Diego, California and she wasn't originally supposed to be in my district but because of some scheduling conflicts she was thrown in with us! I don't know what I would do without her. She is a really great example for me and she knows her scriptures super well! She has read the Book of Mormon over 14 times and is really well versed with the Bible too even though she wont admit it. It is sad though because she wasn't supposed to be in our district so she leaves a week earlier than the rest of us... I don't know what I am gonna do! But I know she will do amazing things in Nashville, TN. She is going to help so so many people come closer to Christ.
Hermana Seaborn has taught me a lot too. She is from Canada and Canada is close but they are still very different. I love her sense of humor and she is always singing which reminds me of Jessica all the time. She has also worked at Vivint which was too funny!
This week has been really wonderful. Sunday was Mission Conference and we had some really great speakers! One of my favorite quotes was to "Always give more than is expected of you." What a powerful statement and this is hopefully what I can carry throughout my mission and throughout my life. I always want to do more than is expected of me and that is when Heavenly Father will be there to see your efforts.
Earlier in the week I was really having a rough time. I am tired of having to use the crutches and I went almost 3 whole days without them but then on the 3rd day I was just about to die from the pain. But things are better now. I am back on crutches and I figure God knows better than I do. He has given me this challenge for some reason and I just need to work harder to find out what that is. I go to the podiatrist on Tuesday so I am praying super hard that I won't get delayed or anything. I love the MTC but I am really excited to get out into the field and meet some new people in Colorado!!!!
I am so grateful for prayers because that has been what has been helping me the most. Sometimes it feels like no one is listening or that this trial is just to hard but then I remember a quote from Elder Holland about why missionary work isn´t easy and he says it is because Salvation isn't easy and I think that in general applies to life. Sometimes life seems challenging and hard but life isn't easy because Salvation wasn't easy. My Savior knows me and He knows each one of you! As you learn to rely on Him, He will be there to support.
Something awesome this Sunday! I get to say the closing prayer at our Sunday Fireside!!! In front of more than 2000 people... Awesome! Wish me luck!
Con amor,
Hermana Jarvis
