Missionary work Ian's update 4-18-16

How's it going everybody? Hope your week went well! Mine was same ol'
same ol'. Preaching' Jesus and inviting to people to come to church!

This week we went on Elder Young's first splits! That's where we each
get a member and split up to do more work! It was pretty dang fun! The
member I had just got back from his mission in Mexico, so he could
speak Spanish to all of the people that didn't know English! It was
pretty awesome having a Spanish companion for a few hours! We tore it
up! We had a few lessons and we met with Chad again! He is pretty
awesome. Once he gets married he will be good to go! He reads and
prays everyday, at church every Sunday, and just loves the gospel!

I went on exchanges with Elder Butcher this week! He has been on his
mission almost 20 months! He taught me a lot about leadership and just
being a diligent missionary. He has a fractured rib so we had to walk
everywhere. That wasn't' fun! We still put in a lot of work though!
Just learning a lot and enjoying it! We had a great weekly planning!
Organization is just so nice. Makes me feel happy! I got a call during
weekly planning that 2 of my past investigators are getting BAPTIZED!
That is right Jared.. I'm the winner now:)

Sunday was a great day! We had to bike to church like always.. Suits
and bikes don't go well together. Oh well, we did it. We get there and
one of our investigators texts us "Can you walk with me to church?"
Well of course we can. We bike to the other side of our area and walk
with Marlon to church! He is a 16 year old kid that fell off the path
of Christ and we knocked his door and he decided it was time to go
back!  Led by the Holy Ghost! He liked church and wants
to come next week too! It was a great Sunday:)

This week was pretty great! Getting used to the area now and learning
the work here. Getting along with my companion. Just trying to enjoy
the best two years of my life👔

Elder Jarvis

Oh yeah, zone conference was this week! It was pretty awesome! Got to see Elder Hayes and some of the other missionaries I served around! On my right, the Polynesian, he is really 5'7". I picked him up for the picture😂😂

Just past this bridge is the other mission.
