Let's see, where was I? update for Ian 12-25-15

Man Tis the season... Of things going crazy

It's been awhile since I last wrote. Let's see I was transferred December 15. My new companion is Elder Weber! I'm follow up training, God sure is testing me. I've never had to talk so much. I'm grateful to say my trainer has trained me well. My new area is the McColough and Laurel Hill wards. It's in Henderson Las Vegas! I feel like I'm in Utah because it is just 2 neighborhoods I'm covering. But it's great!

Last week we had Zone Conference! It was great! It's weird that I'm in my second area with all new leadership and all new missionaries that I'm serving with. I like the change! Gets me pumped to work harder! My zone leaders went on a mini blitz with us after Zone Conference. It was great! So, we just switched companions, I went with Elder Clark, and went and tracted. I was struggling on if there were any people that would be open to the gospel. We found 4 new people to teach!  Blessings of diligence! Since then I've had a better outlook on my new area and I'm loving it!

First Sunday at the new church was great! Basically the same questions over and over... Where are you from? How long have you been out? How tall are you?... They had their Christmas Sunday and I had to sing in the young men's choir because they didn't have enough voices. Blah.. It was fun though!

I'm actually learning from new companion when I'm supposed to be teaching him. He is diligent. He will talk to anybody he sees on the streets. Might be awkward and I have to step in to carry the conversation onto a gospel related subject, but that's what I struggled with the most just taking that first step to talk to somebody. I'm getting the street contact bug though. Once I talk to somebody where I take the first step I talk to everybody and it usually goes well. I've been able to see how much I've grown in my new area. Leading an area is great! Seeing that I know how to be a missionary is awesome! I can now bear my testimony on any scripture that I open up to. That's all the spirit though! I've never felt the spirit so strong before and it's the greatest thing to realize you just said the words a person needed to hear. Seeing that moment wear it clicks, pierces their soul, and they are opened to new horizon of spirituality.

We met this less active lady. She fell away after she married her husband. Recently, she has been wanting to come back to church, but couldn't take the first step. She actually street contacted us. She said we could come by and share a Christmas message. We went over and my companion and I just bore our testimonies on the atonement and the importance of taking the sacrament. She wants her kids to have the opportunity to feel Gods love in her life and knows that's through baptism and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. We are going to teach them the lessons and help her come back to church to recognize Gods love in her life. It's amazing the how the gospel makes you thirst for it when you aren't living it. As Jesus Christ said to the woman at the well. Drink of the living water and you will never thirst again! What a boss!

What else happened this week? Oh yeah MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! Hope you all have fun and enjoy spending time with your family! Enjoy the small and precious moments. Remember, this is the day that we were saved from our sins. The day we can rejoice and praise our savior for doing what no other man (or woman) could do. Time to be merry, spend time with your families, and remember what God has given us. At least enjoy it for me. Give your parents/kids/whoever you love, give them a kiss and hug and tell them you love 'em!!

Let's see well a lot more goes on in my week but I'm lazy and want to take a nap so you guys have a good 4 days and I'll talk to you on Monday! Merry Christmas, love ya<3
