This week started off with a bang!! We had a lesson with a LA lady
who wanted answers but not the right answers if you know what I mean. We
testified so boldly and so much we were so drained afterwards. It was a lesson
that even though she didn't come back to the church, it re testified to me you
have to do the basics no matter how strong your testimony is!
So, I was told that it never rains in the desert. I was told wrong. It
rained the whole day. I was drenched head to foot. We taught Lesson 1 ( the
restoration) in about 3 minutes though. This man said he is expecting a work
call at 1:00. I looked at my watch 12:56. I was like we can so do this. Well, my
companion and I switched on every point and testified. Gave him a Book of
Mormon. Then, set up a return appointment. As we closed his phone started to
ring. ha ha it was so crazy. We practice teaching lesson 1 in a minute, but that
is the first time I've done it with an investigator. It was a great experience.
Then, we had another lesson that day. I entered that house drenched. We taught
the Plan of Salvation. it was a great lesson.
Guess what? it rained again Wednesday?!? it wasn't all day, but it was for
a few hours. I was depressed all day. Oh well, the work continues on.
I went on Exchanges with District Leader this week. I just felt like we
didn't get much work done. But, as I looked back we found 3 new investigators.
That is a lot! So, you have to look at what you have accomplished to love what
you have now. Being Grateful is tough.
A lot of great things happened the rest of the week, but as you all know,
I'm lazy. ha ha a nap is calling my name!
Friday night, we got a text from bishop that one of the speakers for Sunday
is sick. Could you step in? So, being missionaries we said Yes. Then, we were
like only if you come to a lesson with us Saturday. So, bishop came to the
lesson.... It was a great lesson and he was supposed to be there, because there
were some questions only a bishop could answer.
Sunday, because of that laziness thing, I made my talk in sacrament about the
first ward I covered. Just found three scriptures to bear my testimony on. I also
found out this was Elder Weber's first talk. So, I told him make up a plan. Ask
God to Bless it. then the spirit will tell you what to say. He wasn't nervous
anymore. When he got up to talk he didn't use his "set talk" at all. He was like
thank you. I was like your welcome. So, it was my turn to talk and I just
testified of the importance of an invitation. I thought it went okay. Just Meh.
A woman came up to me and said, " Your talk meant a lot to me. Just know it
touched one person's heart". I was like power of a testimony. Shaking my head
saying Flip Yeah.
Well, that is my week. I can tell you. If you want a spiritual gift from God. Gift of faith, revelation, spirit, whatever you want. Pray and ask for
guidance. Act on your prayer. Do what the gift says. and you will get that gift.
Pray, Act, Work, Give Thanks. 4 things you do to get a spiritual blessing. I can
testify to you if you do those 4 things. You can obtain any gift from God. I
know that this is true because I've done these four things. The testimony that
comes from knowing God loves me and wants to give me everything he has and all I
had to do was Pray, Act, Work, and Give thanks emanates from me, This Gospel is
True. Christ is our Savior and No one, No thing can and will every change my
conversion unto Christ.
