| We had a service project Thursday morning! It was great we
served thanksgiving lunch to the needy! |
| So we were tracting and if you look really close it says no religious proselyting. So... Me being me, I knocked it:) |
| Elder Hayes has driving gloves because his hands are cold😂😂😂 |
because of Thanksgiving, but I still had the spirit with me always!
Elder Hayes being District Leader said he wanted to go on exchanges.
Exchanges is when you switch companions for a certain amount of time.I went to Mission Hills with Elder Patio. Then Elder Hunter came to
Boulder city with Elder Hayes. It was pretty fun. Elder Patio was
super excited to have his first Thanksgiving. He is from the
Philippians so has never celebrated this holiday ha ha. He is a really
humble missionary and has been out for 10 months and gave me his
wisdom on being the best missionary you can be!
For Thanksgiving we were invited to the Reid's house. They are a super
cool family! The dad served his mission in Hawaii, so he made paluou
pork. Idk how to spell it so don't ask. They had so much food though!
It was great! We went over to other members houses and some
investigators and they all tried to give us more food. It was the
first time I said no to food. I was so stuffed.
Friday we had a lesson with our progressing investigator that is set
for the 19. She called us an hour before the lesson and Elder Hayes
and I thought she was going to cancel. Super scarred. Turns out she
just wanted to say her kids wouldn't be home( we are teaching them as
well) and tell us she read Nephi 1. We showed up to the lesson that
night and it turns out she didn't just read chapter 1 of first Nephi,
but that she read all of 1 Nephi and was starting 2 Nephi! It was
awesome!! We had a great lesson with her, the spirit was so strong!!
She is so ready for baptism! She also came to church! It was the best!
This Sunday a sister gave a talk on spiritual reflexes. Is it a
reflex to ask God for help when things go wrong? Or is it a reflex to
be grateful for things God has blessed you with? Do you got to God
when things just go bad? Or do you turn to God both when things go
wrong and also when things are going good? It just made think about
what do I do? I believe in God and I'm serving a mission to further
his work am I living the commandments, am I giving thanks for the
blessings he has given me? Am I doing all I can to be the best
representative of Jesus Christ at all times? Well that's my 2 cents!
Have a great week! Talk to you guys next Monday!!!
Love
Elder Jarvis
| We went to a gold mine for pday! It was the best! |
