Well I don't actually have any clue at all how many miles we may have travelled this week but I assure you it was many! And it was one of the best weeks of my entire mission!! I have learned so much from these wonderful sisters! On Friday I went to Bologna to do an exchange with Sorella Stott. Well Sorella Stott is in her 2nd transfer and she is just great! Sorella Killpack and I made this goal of not speaking English and it applies to all times. But I do not expect others to only speak Italian back to me. *agency* But Sorella Stott is such a trooper and she did it! She pushed herself so hard and learned so much during that time. When were talking right before splitting back and she said, "I was so surprised when the first thing you did was ask me questions. You asked me about my family, you asked me about myself and I answered. I thought if you weren't speaking English you just didn't speak. Now I realize you can still talk even when it's in Italian." It was such a great experience! It made me think that sometimes are goals are just for us but when they are made with the guidance of prayer they can also help others. If that makes sense...
Sunday was so amazing!! We had 6 people in church!! All but 2 of them were
brought by members. It was so great! There was such strong spirit! I love
Rimini! These people are so warm and loving! In gospel principles the teacher
prepared a lesson on baptism. It was perfect! He is such a loving and inspired
teacher as well! Egi, the young woman with a baptismal date was so excited! He
asked a general question, "Do you think baptism is important?" And she said, "Of
course! I'm getting baptized the 17th of October!" It was so great! He wrote it
all nice and big on the board for us to remember every week!
Then Monday we went to Reggio Emilia (where parmigian or parmisan cheese, I
don't really remember what it's called in English was created) and then I came
back to Rimini with Sorella Richards! That night we had a family home evening
with a member family. They invited us to share the lesson and we talked about-
you guessed it-- missionary work! They loved it! They're the best missionaries!
The son is going to prepare this week a testimony in a copy of the Book of
Mormon for his teacher. He said, "He doesn't believe in God because he doesn't
know Him." Tender mercy. Being with Sorella Richards was such a wonderful
experience! I met her first day in the mission and was with her her first 3
transfers while she was in Firenze. We had a really amazing opportunity to talk
about the role of the atonement in missionary work. I loved working with her
because I know her whole mission, she's like my little sister or niece. I have
seen her grow and change so much and become such an amazing missionary!
Yesterday we got a call from our bishop. He said, "Sisters, tomorrow I have
the day off. If you don't have plans for Pday we'd love to take you out or have
you over for lunch!" It was the sweetest! we went to a cute little restaurant in
the middle of nowhere with the most beautiful scenery. It was so fun! I have
only been here 2 weeks but I feel SO much love and acceptance from this
beautiful ward. Last night we did a Family Home Evening with our First
Counselor, his family and Egi! It was great! And they're such amazing
missionaries!
I am just so grateful! Words cannot describe my love and passion for being
a missionary! Here's to another 1,000 miles! Just kidding, we don't use miles
here...
Love you all!
Sorella Jarvis
