Zone Conference fun

So this week was another rough one! But as always, there are always
miracles! Last week we got to teach the mom of one of our new converts again. I
taught her once with Sorella Condie and then we didn't see her for months and
months. I just love her! After teaching her the first time I just fell like we
really needed to see her again. That the Lord had truly prepared her for this
time in her life. But then we never saw her. Well we saw her last week! I don't
know what was different but she was a completely different person! Or, at least,
she felt comfortable with us. She opened up and told us her struggles, her
fears, her desires. It was amazing! We were able to promise her that she would
find the comfort, strength, and everything she could need in the gospel of Jesus
Christ. The Spirit was so strong in the lesson! And we already saw her again
this week!!
On Saturday we went to visit our branch president and his wife for lunch,
then we went to teach again with his wife. I love them very much! They have been
such an amazing example and strength to me here in Montevarchi. We had to say
goodbye on Sunday because they will be out of town for the month of Sept. We
said goodbye but it didn't seem real to me-- I know we will see each other again.
She gave Sorella Hamblin and I cute little aprons that match ones she has, so
cute!
On Monday we had zone conference!! I love zone conference! We have the
biggest zone in the mission and we combined with another zone that makes up our
stake, needless to say there were a lot of missionaries there! From my MTC
district there were 4 of us-- it was like a family reunion! I thought about how
much I love my district and was thinking I was crazy, it's just the MTC, it's
not even the field, why do I just love them all to pieces even now?? Well the
inspired wife of our mission president, Sorella Dibb, explained it all in her
amazing training. At least for us, we love our district so much because that's
where it all began. We completely understand each other because we experience the
same things! We learn together, grow together...cry together sometimes...and
that's what makes us family! President Dibb talked about how we can always
decide to change, it depends on us. He shared with us the quote from Elder
Ballard asking if we can keep pace with the Savior in the hastening of the work.
I know, I want to rise to the challenge. I can't sit and watch the work
progress. I have been given this opportunity on the front lines. We all have the
promise of knowing our message is true and that will help us accomplish
anything! I loved their messages because they are so sincere. We are
enlisted!
Have a great week! Love you!!
Sorella Jarvis
