Work, work, work update for Jessica 9-9-14

"Work, work, work-- there is no satisfactory substitute, especially in missionary work." I love modern prophets. My testimony of modern prophets this last week has grown so much. We just need to be willing to listen. Are you willing to listen? And then act? Sometimes, I'm not a good listener but I'm trying really hard to change that. This week we did some hard core missionary work! We're having a baptism this week! We're so excited"! Her name is Jasmin and I'm obsessed with her. She keeps a notebook of everything we teach her and she asks amazing questions! She is one of those people Heavenly Father sent to the earth at this time in a home without the gospel because they were so strong, they were able to find it! She is a little pioneer!

She has taught me the importance of being childlike and being humble. Sometimes we get caught up in our heads and think we know all the answers or just don't want other people to know we don't. But the point of this life is to learn. If we're not learning, we're waisting our time, simple as that. I remember about 2 months ago I thought I was doing pretty well, I though I had got things pretty figured out-- and then I started training. Training is the most amazing experience ever! And it is also like getting slapped with a humble stick. But it's good for us.

On Sunday we had 5 investigators in church!! It was amazing! Especially for only having about 20 members those were some pretty good odds! The best part is, these people are the ones doing all the work. We're just the little baby sheep herders. And I am grateful for the trust Heavenly Father has in us.

Too much to say and no time to say it! Have the bestest week!

Love you!!

Sorella Jarvis
