Going to the temple update for Jessica 8-6-14

walking around Burano :) From Sorella Hamblin

First off! Probably the biggest miracle of the week: Right after emailing we went to the Mestre chapel which I had never seen before. It is the most beautiful church I have ever seen! I instantly felt the Spirit when I was there. We were there in order to see Alex who was a new convert when I was in Mestre. Sorella Morley and I taught all the time and he would always come with us to lesson. He had such a huge impact on the start of my mission. I remember the week I was due to leave he told me he had seen me change so much since I arrived and that I had a "zeal" for missionary work ha ha. Well, *drum roll please* he told me that the next week he was going to the temple!!! The temple!!! I was there the first time when he was able to go and do baptisms for his father and grandfather. I was so overcome. I started crying a little bit. That is every missionaries true goal. Not just getting people to be baptized but helping them open the gates to salvation, to get to the temple. With all the stress of last week that was definitely a miracle for me. That I was able to have him tell me in person and I could be there right before and give him advice :)
So we left early Monday morning and didn't get home until Thursday night-- long week. By the time Friday morning came around we were breaking down the doors to go teach. We skipped lunch, caught a train, grabbed a pizza for the bus and headed to work. We stayed very busy and Saturday we had another branch activity. I love my branch! I can't say it enough. These people are my family.
We had a fun experience Friday night. We set a time to meet with a young girl we taught on the train. Then we got a call from one of our members who's aunt was in the hospital because she had fallen and broken her neck. Sorella Hamblin says, "Which one should we do?" I just look at her and said, "Why not both?" May be unconventional but she came with us to the hospital to visit for a bit and then we had a lesson all together. It was a truly unique experience but I wouldn't change a thing about it :) We can always be teaching and serving at the same time.

Welp. I'm out of time! I love you all! Shout out to Sarah Depto!! Thanks for the letter! It meant a lot to me :)

Con tanto affetto,

Sorella Jarvis
