Ian 10-12-15

This week was awesome!!!! We tracted so much (door knocking) and no return appts but oh well! We have been working with this family they are super great! We have taught the first two lessons and they have been keeping their commitments! Hopefully baptize the whole family (3 of them) November 14!
Then, we baptized Gage the 9th! The sisters taught him everything and we just set up the baptism! It was so great! Elder Hayes had to conduct he was super nervous but did a great job! The bishop baptized him and then I CONFIRMED HIM! That was crazy awesome experience I'm sure more to come!
My companion still doesn't know how to ride a bike๐Ÿ˜‚ he flipped himself over the handle bars but caught himself so didn't get scraped up or anything! He did it in front of a member and the member was like I'll take your bike down to the shop and fix it! So now his bike is all tricked out and super nice! Some blessings hurt
We had district sports last Monday and  we were playing 3-3! I try to stay away from getting to competitive but I slipped up and yammed one! My team mate shot it and I jumped got the rebound in air and basically "Blake Griffened"! All the elders just screamed and ran around the gym! I stood there like did I just do that? And later I got a rebound and my elbow caught a team mates head! So injured a missionary first p-day... Great๐Ÿ˜…
Sunday we had church with both wards! Finally got to meet everyone because of general conference last week! 6 hours of church๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ every Sunday๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ oh yeah! The ward mission statement is awesome "For behold this is our work and glory-to share the joys, the blessings, and knowledge of the gospel with our fellow men" just loved that Oasis Park is wanting to do missionary work so much! Sam, someone we are teaching, is a golden investigator just have to teach him 3-4 more lessons and he set himself for baptism Nov 7th! So looking forward to teaching him tonight! Awesome guy! He has been coming to church for a month now!
Had my first zone training! That was super spiritual! We talked about conquistadors coming to raid the Incas gold and he told his captains to burn the ships (3)! The only way we are getting back is on their ships! Yeah they killed a whole civilization but I need to burn my ships holding me back from becoming the missionary Heavenly Father needs and wants me to become so I can receive the blessings he wants to give me in this life and the next!
Friday we got iPads!!!!! So nice! All I really use it for is Mormon messages and emails though! I'd rather read from the book then the iPad it helps me learn the scriptures more!
Elder Hayes is my companion and trainer! He is a great guy from a rough background! He is from Texas and is the hardest working person I've met on my mission! He can't ride a bike but he can start up a conversation with anyone and teach them about the gospel! Knows the scriptures so well and rebukes me through them all the time. I mean ALL the time๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚
If you wanna send me mail the address is:  9270 south Maryland parkway Las Vegas, NV 89123

This week has been amazing over all! Got my bike fixed! Had my first convert baptism! Confirmed my first investigator! Learning how to street contact! This mission has blessed my life so much and I'm only coming up on a month! I know that this church is true! I know that the atonement is for anyone willing start out with an ounce of faith and build to a firm, unmoving foundation! That we need to read our scriptures everyday and read them with a purpose! Pray to our Heavenly Father and ask for guidance and confirmation! And if we do these small things it will lead us to being baptized by the proper authority of God and relieving eternal happiness! I love everyone in my area! Even the people that say no or disagree! I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve a mission and for the examples set for me by my siblings, missionaries back home, and by most of all my Mom! I'm going to continue to strive towards coming closer to Christ and spreading his gospel to help people understand that only true happiness comes through believing in Christ and following his example! And I say these things in his name, even Jesus Christ amen.

Yes I look like a tower...

This is my iPad lock screen to remind me I need to work till I have no energy left, to the point I'm relying on the savior for help to just take another step! That is how I want to finish my mission
Hiked a mountain to get this pic
